Free Tutorial!!  Candy Anyone?

Hi!

Thought I would post a picture of what will be needed in my first tutorial on how to make miniature candy / candy ornaments  (like the ones I made for the Christmas Blop Hop Giveaway).  I will be posting a tutorial on how to make faux candy next Wednesday.  I would love for you to join me!  Making sweets should be made together, so don't leave me here in my craft kitchen alone.   Just leave a comment below my postings and I will be able to comment back to you!

Below is a picture of what I will be showing you how to make, as well as giving you lots of variations, such as embellishments, like buttons, garland, Christmas ornaments, etc.  Lots of possibilities with these sweet candies.

Remember, you can use the techniques I teach you not only for miniature candy, but you can make them as large or as small as you like! They make wonderful accessories to your dolls or your own art.  Get your kids involved too!   Polymer clay is nontoxic - perfect for us all!

~~ Tools Needed ~~

You will also need a baking sheet and an oven.  I have a small table top oven that I use only for polymer clay.  You can use your regular oven, but please remember, it will need to be cleaned really well with water and baking soda afterwards to remove any residue from the fumes.  Real food and polymer clay should never be in mixed company.  :)

The above picture is Angelina Fantasy Film!  This is great stuff ... you can use it to make beautiful fairy wings too!  It is  scrumptious colored cellophane (not too thick, but perfect for wrapping candies in).

You can find most of these items at Michaels, JoAnns or on Ebay.  As soon as I get permission from one of my favorite stores on Ebay, I will give you their name.  Love them - but thought I should ask them first before mentioning them.   A great store for supplies!

OK ... I have been given permission to use their name!!  YAY!  On ebay you can find the 3D Liquid Lacquer, Angelina Fantasty Film (in a pack of multiple colors), heat gun, cutter rib tool, and glitter at a store called Morezmore!  Don't forget that name!  They are on ebay!  Great store - super fast shipping too - EXCELLENT!

Here is a link!

Well, that's it for now.  Hope to see you in the kitchen with me on Wednesday.  I have lots of room and would love your company!  Hugs to you,

Hi out there in Blogland!

Well, my days have been busy creating my newest piece (an angel - which is a wee bit of a challenge), but I wanted to stop by and say hello.  For those of you waiting to see my candy tutorial, it has been delayed a bit.  I am hoping to get it going next week, Wednesday.  Please do stop by then, as I promise it will be up and running.  I hope you will join me, as miniature candy is really fun to make.

I had wonderful news last week!  I have been selected to be the featured artist on Pfatt Marketplace for the month of April.  WOW!!  Such an honor as there are so many talented artists on the site and to be picked out from the long list is really something for little o'l me.  I can't stop smiling!  Ok ... I cringed a little when I was asked to show some pictures of me in my studio.  Yikes!  The camera is never good to me.  I was thinking, I would just pick out a fake picture of some supermodel and say that was me.  People on Facebook do it all the time!  Hmmm it's a thought.

Below is a picture of one of my newest pieces.  It is called Haunting Love - A Ghost Bride Doll.  Story goes, she haunts the abandoned castle halls looking for her lost love who never made it to the alter and left her there.  So distraught, she withered away, died and now roams the halls forever waiting for him.  If it were me, I would never wither away and die.  I would probably die from eating too much ice cream and candy in my depressed state.  HA! HA!  Maybe I should have made her a chubby ghost. (next time)  LOL!  Regardless, hope you like her!

Is that someone at that door?  Maybe, it's him! ... if not, I'll scare the pants off them!

(Isn't it kinda creepy & fun to think that this sweet face could possibly change
from sweet and innocent and scare you!)  I so love spooky!
Hope you are all having a wonderful evening!  Come back and see me next Wednesday!

Hi!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.  It is just a beautiful day in California.  A little breezy, but that's fine by me.  The sky is just gorgeous and the grass is spring green.  So beautiful!  My little dog, Jake, and I have been in and out all day long.  Outside is definitely better than inside.  I think Jake will sleep good tonight with all his running around.   :)

I wanted to share my offering for SpookyTime Jingles this month.  SpookyTime Jingles is an all year long Halloween Art site.  (www.spookytimejingles.com)   I am one of those people who is absolutely crazy for Halloween.  This piece is called "Candy, Dearies?"  Every year, I dress as a witch and hand out candy to the kiddies in the neighborhood saying those exact same words.  So, I thought it would be fun to make a shelf sitting witch in that fashion.  I have named this witch, Scarlet.  Here she is ... of course, my infatuation with "green" witches continues.

SOLD!!!   THANK YOU, TINA!!!!

She will be available for purchase on March 13th on the site.  Don't you love the spiders on her stockings?

Here is Scarlet's back view.

She has a pretty necklace with a "W" for witch ...or maybe it is the initial of her warlock boyfriend. :)

Scarlet holds a candy bucket filled with handmade, miniature, Halloween candy. In her other hand, she holds out some for you.  I will be giving a tutorial on my blog on how to make these candies in the next week.

There is something about a green witch that I love.  I think it's the notion that you never know if she is a good witch or a bad witch.  Either way, you are always on your best behavior around one.

Scarlet is a true Charmed Confection!

Here is another confection of sorts!  I couldn't resist.  Jake is my little, sweetheart ...
ok, besides my hubby and daughter - I love them too!

Hope this finds you happy, healthy and well loved!

Hi Everyone in Blogland!

Well, it has been a while since I have posted something on my blog, and I am quite ashamed.  It is a wonder I even have followers at all.  So, for all you out there looking at my humble blog, I thank you for putting up with me.  I do have some fun things in the works.  I will be putting on a tutorial on how to make miniature candy out of polymer clay.  Should be fun and I hope you will participate with me.  If you have any dollies that need a little sweet to hold, you will want to stay tuned.  I will be working on that next week.

This week, I would like to introduce you to my newest piece debuting on Pfatt Marketplace on March 10th at 10am Pacific Time.  It is called the "Tea Time March Hare".  I absolutely love anything Alice in Wonderland and thought I would do a whimsical piece using some sweet teacups I was given by a family friend.

Hope you like her.  She was incredibly fun to make and I have fallen in love with her, so am sure I will have to make more based on this theme.

SOLD! THANK YOU, SANDY!

The purple and gold tag with the chain around the bottom teacup handle reads ...
"Tea Time".

The above picture is of the accessories I have to go on the teacups.  I even made sugar cubes and a Charmed Confections English Tea (tea bag) to go with the set.  Don't use it!  I am quite sure it would taste awful ... or maybe it would make you grow smaller.   :)

Wouldn't the teacup saucers look darling filled with jelly beans for an Easter centerpiece?  That's what I would do and then the rest of the time, I would use the accessories.

Ok ... I am off like the White Rabbit!  Take care my friends!  Until next time!  I will be blogging again later this week to give you a sneak peek at my offering for SpookyTime Jingles which will debut on March 13th.  (Psst ... it's a shelf sitter Witch holding a candy bucket with lots and lots of miniature candies in it.)  XOXOXO
